Yes, the drones have been delivering orders in the Värmdö area since Feb 2025, starting with a selected Bastard Burgers restaurant. This innovation is possible thanks to foodora’s partnership with Aviant, Tele2, and Bastard Burgers.
If you're application is approved - follow the steps below to order!
1. Download the foodora app: You need to have the app to make your order.
2. Order: Open the foodora app while at your approved Värmdö address. Select the address, tap the Bastard Burgers x Drone picture, and place your order (available Thu-Sun between 4pm-8:30 pm). Note: You can only pick one meal per order due to the drones' weight limit.
3. Confirm safety instructions and track the order via link received in text message
4. Receive: The drone will lower your order safely into your garden. Stay indoors, as the drone won’t release the box if it detects anyone below.
5. Enjoy!
You can order with drone delivery from a selected Bastard Burgers restaurant.
You'll have a few options on the restaurant's menu, but you can only pick one meal per order due to the drones' weight limit.
You can place orders during Thur-Sun between 16.00-20.30 as long as the weather permits.
We can't guarantee that you will receive your order via drone delivery. Ccircumstances such as wheather conditions, technical problems and identification of safety issues (e.g. you or another person is below the drone when it tries to deliver your order) may also result in orders being cancelled.
You can order to approved addresses in the Värmdö area. For an address to be approved, it needs to meet some criterias, such as being clear of obstacles for landning.
Marked area on the map constitutes the rough delivery area. Please note that drones cannot deliver to addresses that are situated, e.g., in densely populated areas, close to schooles or in no flight-zones
Yes, this service is secure. Aviant holds the highest regulatory approvals available to European drone delivery companies and has completed over 5,000 successful flights.
In the unlikely event of an issue, the drones feature multiple safety systems, including an automatic parachute. Further, all flights are monitored by drone operators who can take control if needed.
This service complies with all Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations.
At foodora, your privacy and safety is a top priority. Our drone delivery service, in partnership with Aviant, is designed with your privacy in mind. The drones are equipped with cameras used exclusively for navigation and secure deliveries. The camera quality is intentionally low, to not be able to identify individual characteristics such as the face - however the camera might still make out movement patterns of those who are in or near the delivery area.
Any recorded footage is securely stored for a maximum of seven days and is accessible by a limited number of people only in the rare event of an incident requiring investigation. After seven days, all recordings are automatically and permanently deleted.
Yes, you can always opt out from drone deliveries by contacting customer service through our Help Center or by sending an email to privacy@foodora.com.
